Combination skin can be difficult to treat. Some ingredients may be great for the dry parts of your skin, while others may be best for oilier areas. However, when applied all over, they can reinforce the imbalance that combination skin is characterized by. We’ve put together a list of ingredients that work for combination skin, whether your skin is oily/dry, normal/oily, etc.

Witch Hazel: Witch hazel tones and tightens pores without drying the skin out. It also helps unclog the pores and curb oil production. It is also anti-inflammatory and will reduce any sensitivity associated with the dry patches you may have.

Honey: Honey is an anti-bacterial humectant packed with nourishing minerals and vitamins that works for all skin types. It is especially beneficial for combination skin because it hydrates, balances sebum production, and treats breakouts all at once.

Lactic Acid: Lactic acid is an AHA derived from milk that gently removes dead skin without causing irritation, redness, or dryness. It will remove flakes in addition to blackheads and pore congestion while having the added benefit of stimulating collagen production.

Green Tea: Green tea is packed with antioxidants to protect the skin from free radical damage. In addition, it balances sebum production by absorbing excess oil while conditioning the skin. It has a brightening effect as well. Using green tea frequently in your regimen will leave your skin radiant and healthy.

Jojoba Oil: Jojoba oil is incredibly beneficial for both oily and combination skin. Its consistency is similar to that of oil, therefore, when it is applied to our skin, our oil glands stop producing oil as it gets the signal that the skin is properly hydrated. It will also help to decongest pores, brighten, and prevent aging.
